Why We Design This Way

For years, our founder sat in executive rooms wearing modest clothing that never quite fit right. It was either comfortable, or it looked the part. Neither one built to last.

Most modest clothing starts as something else. A dress gets lengthened. A blouse gets an extra lining. You could always tell. So she designed her own, modest from the first sketch instead of corrected afterwards. The fabric holds up to daily wear. It's comfortable enough to forget about, and refined enough to feel confident in.

Now she wears every piece she sells, to the same kind of meetings where nothing used to work.

Why is Destaniya priced differently from many other modest fashion brands?

Most modest fashion defaults to polyester, because it is the cheapest fibre to produce. We chose natural fibres instead. It is the reason a Destaniya piece still looks and feels the way it did on day one, long after cheaper alternatives have thinned, pilled, or lost their shap

Why were these fabrics selected?

Each one was chosen for what it does: how it breathes, how it holds its shape after washing, how it feels against the skin over months, not just how it photographs on day one.

Is the garment fully lined?

Yes, wherever lining is needed. We use cotton or cupro lining. Cupro has a silk-like touch, thanks to its extremely fine threads, giving it a soft, luxurious feel. It's breathable and moisture-absorbing, so it helps regulate temperature. Cotton offers the same breathable, durable quality, and feels soft against the skin. Both hold up far longer than the thin polyester lining often used in modest clothing.

How does sizing and length work?

Every product page includes specific sizing guidance, because fit varies by fabric and cut. Pieces with added stretch hold true to your normal size; fabrics without stretch are best sized down slightly for the closest fit.

Is it worth the price?

The cost sits in two places: the fibre, and the fit. Cheaper fabrics pill, thin, or lose their shape within months, so they need replacing. Ours are chosen specifically to hold their shape and colour over years of wear, not just to look good in the first few washes.

The fit works the same way. A piece cut and finished properly sits right on the body from the first wear, so there's nothing to adjust, retie, or work around every time you put it on.
